About me
About me
My name is Jacobo Rouces González, and I have worked in a range of fields including computer science, computational linguistics and language teaching.
I have a PhD in Computational Linguistics from Aalborg University in Denmark, a MSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Denmark, and a BSc in Telecommunication Engineering from University Carlos III in Madrid.
I have experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of Computer Science and Natural Language Processing. I have also supervised and co-supervised pre-grad and postgraduate students, assisting them in publishing their results. I have published in regional and international conferences and journals in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence.
I also have experience teaching languages, mostly Spanish and English, at different levels. This started as an odd job because I wanted a break from post-late-2010s AI research, but I ended up turning it into a more regular occupation because I like languages – or language in singular.
At a fluent level, I speak Spanish (native), English (C2), Danish (C1), and French (B2).
I currently offer a variety of teaching and consulting services:
Lessons and consulting in Spanish language at all levels from A1 to post-C2.
Mathematics at a high school level, and in some areas, at a university level.
Computer Science: programming (Java/Python), data structures, data science.
I am available as consultant or programmer in some projects related to the intersection between computer science and language.
Lessons and consulting in Academic English.
My rates are the same across all services — you can find them here.
My wife and I co-own an education and consulting company and we cooperate in some ways. She offers lessons in:
